balance Evenly distributed, but not necessarily centered or mirrored.

baseline An imaginary line used to organize text along a horizontal plane.

bitmap An image created by a grid of pixels with each pixel assigned a color and, in some file formats (PNG and GIF), a transparency value.

blackletter fonts Ornate and antique-looking typefaces; also known as Old English or Gothic. Convey a feeling of rich and sophisticated gravitas.
