G

gatefold

A document folding method that uses two parallel folds to create six panels – three panels on each side of the paper.
The left and right panels are roughly half the width of the center panels and fold inward to meet in the middle without overlapping.

Sometimes a gatefolded piece is folded inward one more time, along a central crease. This method is called a Closed Gatefold or Double Gatefold.
The Closed Gatefold method creates eight panels – four panels on each side of the paper. All panels are roughly the same width.

geometric (lines)

Tend to be straight and have sharp angles. Look manmade and intentional. Communicate strength, power, and precision.

geometric shapes

Predictable and consistent shapes, such as circles, squares, triangles, and stars. They are rarely found in nature and convey mechanical and manufactured impressions.

glyph

Each character of a font, whether it is a letter, number, symbol, or swash.

gradient

Blends between different colors or between different shades of color.

gradient ramp

Preview for a gradient that shows the color blend and color stops.

gutter

The spacing between columns.
