2.2.2 Format text containers

You use the commands in the Shape Styles group on the Format tool tab to format text boxes and shapes.

You can choose from built-in styles that combine outline and fill formatting from the presentation color scheme, or you can individually format fill colors, borders, shadows, and other effects.

Use built-in effect combinations or create your own

You can modify the appearance of the text within the containers by using standard font formatting techniques (commands in the Font and Paragraph groups on the Home tab and on the Mini Toolbar) and the WordArt styles and text formatting available on the Format tool tab.

Tip: Having made changes to one shape or text box, you can easily apply the same attributes to another by using the Format Painter tool.
