2.2 Practice & Exam Tasks

Practice Tasks

The practice file for these tasks is located in the Objective 2-2 practice file folder. The folder also contains a result file that you can use to check your work.

1. Open the PowerPoint_2-2 presentation and do the following on slide 1:

  • Insert Sun, Moon, and Heart shapes at their default sizes.

2. Format the Sun shape as follows: 

  1. Set the Sun shape to a size of 3” by 3”
  2. Using the colors from the Standard Colors palette, fill the Sun shape with Yellow
  3. Add the word "Nature" to the Sun shape

3. Format the Moon shape as follows: 

  1. Set the Moon shape to a size of 2” by 1.5”.
  2. Rotate the Moon shape by 180 degrees so that the open curve is on the left and the outer curve is on the right.
  3. Using the colors from the Standard Colors palette, fill the Moon shape with Orange
  4. Add the word "Sleep" to the Moon shape.
  5. Flip the Moon shape vertically so that its text is right-side up.
  6. Then rotate the text 270 degrees so that the text runs sideways from bottom to top.

4. Select the three shapes, and then apply a 1-point, White outline.

5. Format the words in the three shapes by applying the first WordArt Quick Style (Fill – Black, Text 1, Shadow).

6. Save the PowerPoint_2-2 presentation.

7. Open the PowerPoint_2-2_results presentation. Compare the two presentations to check your work.

8. Close the open presentations.

2.2.1 Insert and manage text containers
Replacing a shape with another
  • On slide #, replace the ExampleShape1 with ExampleShape1.
2.2.2 Format text containers
Modifying the dimensions of the selected text container
  • On slide #, resize the ExampleShape1 so that it is twice as large. The height and width of the shape should remain proportional.
Modifying the fill color of the selected text container / Modifying the outline of the selected text container
  • On slide #, change the color of the Example icon to ExampleColor and add a ExampleColor outline.
Applying or modifying the visual effects of the selected text container
  • On slide #, apply an Example Effect to the shape. Set the ExampleEffect's color to ExampleColor, its size to #% and its distance to # pt.
Task

Open the PP16_ExamTask_2-2 presentation - do not save the changes.

1. On slide 1, replace the Sun shape with a Cloud shape.

2. Change the color of the Cloud icon to Blue and add a Dark Blue outline.

3. Apply an Offset Diagonal Top Right (Offset: Top Right) outer shadow to the Moon shape. Set the shadow's color to Indigo, Accent 6, its size to 105% and its distance to 8 pt.

4. Resize the Heart so that it is twice as large. The height and width of the shape should remain proportional.

  • You can format the Heart shape as follows: Fill color red, Text "Family".
