3.1 Practice & Exam Tasks


Practice Tasks

The practice file for these tasks is located in the Objective 3-1 practice file folder. The folder also contains a result file that you can use to check your work.

1. Open the PowerPoint_3-1a presentation, display slide 2, and do the following:

  1. Insert a table that has three columns and four rows.
  2. In the top row of the table, enter TaskMinutes/Day, and Hours Saved/Week.
  3. Enter the following in the cells of the Task column: Paper documentsEmail, and Calendar.
  4. Insert a new row at the top of the table, and merge all the cells in the row. In the merged cell, enter and center the title Effect of Focused Activity.
  5. In the table, turn off Banded Rows formatting, and turn on First Column formatting.
    • Tip: Banded Rows = rows alternate their fill color // Banded Columns = columns alternate their fill color
  6. Apply the Medium Style 2 - Accent 2 style to the table
  7. Apply a border around the entire table.

2. Display slide 3 and do the following:

  1. Embed the worksheet from the PowerPoint_3-1b workbook on the slide.
  2. Enlarge the worksheet object so that it fills the available space on the slide.

3. Save the PowerPoint_3-1a presentation.

4. Open the PowerPoint_3-1_results presentation. Compare the two presentations to check your work.

5. Close the open presentations.


Exam Tasks

3.1.2 Change table structure
Inserting / Deleting rows / columns
  • On slide #, delete the "Example" row from the table then insert a new column titled "NewExample" on the right.
  • On slide #, delete the "Example" column and add two blank rows between "Row#" and "Row#".

3.1.3 Format tables
Applying Quick Styles
  • Change the style of the table on slide # to Example.
  • Apply the Example table style to the table on the slide titled "ExampleSlide".

Tasks

Open the PP16_ExamTask_3-1.pptx presentation and do the following:

On slide 2, delete the "Calendar" row from the table then insert a new column titled "Days/Month" on the right.
