3.2 Practice & Exam Tasks


Practice Tasks

The practice file for these tasks is located in the Objective 3-2 practice file folder. The folder also contains a result file that you can use to check your work.

1. Open the PowerPoint_3-2a presentation, display slide 1, and do the following:

  1. Use the data from cells A3:C9 of the worksheet in the PowerPoint_3-2b workbook to create a Clustered Column chart.
  2. Change the Average data point for Brushing Teeth to 4 and the Conservative data point to 2.
  3. Change the chart type to Stacked Line With Markers.
  4. Apply Quick Layout 3.
  5. Set the chart title to "Water Consumption (Gallons)".

2. Display slide 2 and do the following:

  1. Switch the rows and columns so that the columns are clustered by month and the legend identifies the Minimum, Average, and Maximum series.

3. Display slide 3 and do the following:

  1. Apply Style 7 to the entire chart.
  2. Select the chart area, and apply the Intense Effect – Orange, Accent 6 shape style.
  3. Select the chart title, and apply the Fill: White; Outline: Green, Accent color 1; Glow: Green, Accent color 1 WordArt Quick Style.
  4. For each pie slice, explode the data points in the chart by 20 percent. Then set the angle of the first slice at 200.
  5. Change the chart legend position from Bottom to Right.

4. Save the PowerPoint_3-2a presentation.

5. Open the PowerPoint_3-2_results presentation. Compare the two presentations to check your work.

6. Close the open presentations.


Exam Tasks

3.2.1 Create and import charts
Creating a chart and adding data
  • Create a ... chart on slide # using the figures provided in the table on the same slide. Use the Example as the Categories and "Example" as the Series. Resizing the chart is optional.
  • On slide #, add a ... chart that shows the Example as the categories and "Example" as the series. Use the data from the table to populate the chart.
3.2.2 Change the chart type, layout, and elements
  • On slide #, modify the chart so that the category labels are listed across the top center of the chart. The labels should overlap the chart.
  • On the slide with the title "Example", modify the chart so that the category labels are displayed below the chart.

Note: Category labels = Legend

Tip: Για τη διαμόρφωση στοιχείων του γραφήματος είναι καλή πρακτική να τα επιλέξετε με χρήση του εργαλείου Chart Elements (Format tab, Current Selection group) και να τα επεξεργαστείτε με χρήση του Format pane όπου αυτό είναι δυνατό.
