5.1 Practice & Exam Tasks


Practice Tasks

The practice files for these tasks are located in the Objective 5-1 practice file folder. The folder also contains result files that you can use to check your work.

1. Open the PowerPoint_5-1a and PowerPoint_5-1b presentations, and do the following:
  1. Arrange the open presentations side by side.
  2. After slide 4 of the PowerPoint_5-1a presentation, insert slide 5 from the PowerPoint_5-1b presentation by dragging it into the presentation.
  3. Close the PowerPoint_5-1b presentation.

2. At the end of the PowerPoint_5-1a presentation, insert the slide title Goals for the Coming Year from the PowerPoint_5-1b presentation by using the Reuse Slides command.

3. Do the following to view slides 4 and 5 at the same time:
  1. Open a second instance of the presentation in a separate program window, and arrange the two instances side by side.
  2. Display slide 4 in the left instance, and slide 5 in the right instance. Verify that the merged slide has taken on the formatting of the presentation.

4. Save the PowerPoint_5-1a presentation.

5. Open thePowerPoint_5-1a_results presentation. Compare the two presentations to check your work. Then close the open presentations.

6. Open the PowerPoint_5-1c presentation, and do the following:
  1. Compare and combine the presentation with the PowerPoint_5-1d presentation from the practice file folder.
  2. Review the marked differences; click Next to move between changes, and select each set of changes to display them on the slide.
  3. Reject the changes on slides 2 and 7.
  4. Accept the presentation changes (the theme and additional content).
  5. End the review.

7. Save the PowerPoint_5-1c presentation.

8. Open the PowerPoint_5-1c_results presentation. Compare the two presentations to check your work. Then close the open presentations.

9. Open the PowerPoint_5-1e presentation and do the following:
  1. Delete the comment attached to the title slide.
  2. Review the remaining comments in the presentation.
  3. Using only one command, delete all the remaining comments.
  4. In the header of slide 2, insert the comment Change date to reflect that of workshop.

10. On slide 9, attach the comment "Is newer data available?" to the citation.

11. On slide 13, attach the comment "Native plant graphics would add interest" to the content placeholder, and then click away from the comment to close it.

12. On slide 13, edit the comment to read "Colorful native plant graphics would make this more interesting.".

13. Save the PowerPoint_5-1e presentation. Open the PowerPoint_5-1e_results presentation. Compare the two presentations to check your work. Then close the open presentations.


Exam Tasks

Open the PP16_ExamTask_5-1a.pptx presentation and do the following:

  • Add all of the slides from PP16_ExamTask_5-1b.pptx in the Practice Files folder to the end of the presentation in order.

  • Insert a comment that reads "Quality" on the chart on slide 3.
