chroma key compositing

Compositing by removing a key color in one clip. The key color is replaced by the contents of another clip on a lower video track, such as an alternate background.

clip

A single video or audio source file. In Premiere Pro you import clips and edit them together into a sequence.

codec

A codec is a device or computer program which encodes or decodes a digital data stream or signal. It encodes a data stream or a signal for transmission or storage, possibly in encrypted form, and the decoder function reverses the encoding for playback or editing. Codecs are used in videoconferencing, streaming media, and video editing applications.


compositing

Creating a single shot by combining different parts of multiple video clips.

context menu

The menu that pops up when you right-click (Windows) or Control-click (macOS). It’s called a context menu because it contains commands specific to the object you clicked.

copyright

A legal right to reproduce or license a work. If you want to use a work and you do not possess the copyright, you must request permission to use the work.

Creative Commons

A set of license types that offer variations between copyright and public domain.

CUDA

A computing architecture by NVIDIA that allows compatible NVIDIA graphics hardware to accelerate calculations.
