In point

For a clip, an In point marks the starting time of the range of frames that will be used in a sequence. For a sequence, an In point marks the starting time of a range of frames for an edit or export.

ingest

Transferring captured video clips into a Premiere Pro project, such as from a camera card. Ingest can include steps such as generating proxies and transcoding.

insert

An edit that adds a clip to a sequence so that all clips after the insertion time (playhead position) are offset forward in time by the duration of the inserted clip. For example, inserting a two-second clip moves all following clips forward two seconds so that no content is deleted.
